Are you ready for the Robots?

Did you realize that robots are going to become an integral part of our life soon?
The concept of consumer robot assistants still feels like complete sci-fi, but the reality is that they are only a few years away from becoming another house hold staple (like a roomba).
For me, the idea of being in the presence of a useful robot is still absolutely wild, but that doesn’t change the fact that we need to start preparing for this day (and I don’t mean stockpiling food and ammo for when Skynet comes online).
If robots become a common tech, it will significantly increase the already huge amount of tech waste that the average household produces. For that reason, it would be very smart for us as a species to solve this problem in advance (completely uncharacteristic for us, I know).
That’s why it was such a relief for me to learn that leading researchers are already successfully tackling this issue by experimenting with biodegradable materials that don’t get stuck in a landfill for centuries.
I am very optimistic that, for once, we might have a technological revolution that doesn’t immediately backfire (but to be honest, I am equally prepared to eat my hat for this statement).
